Excessive Human Collective is a dance theatre company under the creative direction of Imogen Reeve.

Imogen uses an interdisciplinary approach to create genre defying performance work and her pieces have been shown across the UK.

The company has been supported by Arts Council England, Leeds Inspired, Swindon Dance, Exeter Phoenix, Dance in Devon, Yorkshire Dance and Richard Chappell Dance Company.

Imogen’s work is confronting, complex, humorous and highly physical, she uses her artistic practice to imagine new futures and to make sense of the world around her.

Elly Welford (They/She) is a freelance photographer based in Leeds. Graduating from Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2019 and was an apprentice with Motionhouse Dance company.

Elly became interested in photography while in training and post pandemic decided to transition from dancer to dance photographer. Post training, Elly has created a business working with students and professionals offering 1:1 photoshoots with the aim to create a safe and encouraging environment for dancers to express themselves. They strongly believe that everyone deserves to the chance to feel good about themselves. ⁠

Alongside traveling the UK for photoshoots, Elly regularly works with companies and choreographers such as Northern Rascals, VERVE, Ceyda Tanc Dance, MADDOGS Dance Theatre, Sababa CO and others.⁠

⁠Elly’s home is at their Leeds photography studio at The Middle Floor, alongside Northern Rascals and Excessive Human Collective.

A freelance photographer located in Leeds, I specialise in capturing a diverse range of subjects, including fashion, family, corporate (headshots), events, and weddings. Having graduated from the Northern Film School in 2018, I have consistently pursued my passion for photography and film, maintaining a professional route since then.

In my professional journey, I have gained extensive experience in photographing weddings, events, and outdoor settings. However, my focus has broadened to accommodate fashion and corporate photography, particularly with the utilisation of the studio space at Middle Floor. In addition to my commercial work, I am dedicated to mentoring aspiring models, regularly conducting photo sessions to help them build portfolios and boost their confidence within the industry. Some of these shoots have resulted in me being published in 'Sarze Magazine' and 'French Boudoir Magazine'.
