The Middle Floor are looking for 2 new Directors with finance and/or legal expertise to join our Board and help guide the future of our not-for-profit organisation.

The Middle Floor is an inclusive, not for profit producing and artist development organisation based in Leeds. Our vision is to empower artists to effect meaningful change in the world through purposeful skill development that supports talent, passion, and a commitment to sustainable creative industries in our local community and beyond. About the Post
We are looking for 2 UK-based people to join our Board as a voluntary Director.
In the role you will work with the other Directors &:
Attend quarterly online meetings & annual Away Days (dates are agreed up to a year in advance), receiving updates on activity we have delivered, providing advice & guidance on the running of the business, & overseeing our strategic & financial development
Approve the annual budget & support business development
Identify risks to the business and help to provide solutions
Encourage equality, diversity, & inclusion in all aspects of our work
Give advice and support to our staff as required
Occasionally attend events, representing the Middle Floor & our values
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for people with a passion for supporting artists and a willingness to engage with the work that the Middle Floor does. You don’t need to have been on a Board of Directors before.
Person Specification
We are particularly looking for Directors with a background or experience in finance, accounting, and/or legal settings (ideally corporate, intellectual property, or labour and employment).
Directors will
Be passionate about supporting artists & artist development
Enjoy working with others and making joint decisions
Be confident in their ability to give advice & support
Champion equality, inclusivity, & diversity
Have the enthusiasm and time to be an active member of the Board
